'Stevie-G' love in
|
It's becoming inescapable, as are clips of 'that goal' in the 'Gerard final'.
Unbearable sycophancy and it's only going to get worse.
Am I being unfair or does it make anyone else queasy/furious too?

I was thinking they should have two black armbands sown (or however they do it) into each sleeve of their kit next year.
1 - for Gearrad 1 - for the 96 1 - for the death of the English language on Merseyside 1 - for which ever bullshit occasion they are trying to get sympathy (for use a weekly basis.)

they're good at that
after about 5 games of his career at Anfield I heard some on the radio callig Coutinho the new Kenny Dalglish
he's not a bad player at all but in that comparison he's closer to the curent Dalglish than him at his best

How do you know Eddie B's ghostwriter didn't type that?

So, Edward, you know for a FACT that those words were not spoken by him?

Oh for fucks sake. His ghostwriter said that stuff in his book, not him.

I have no problem with Gerrard. At his peak he was the scousers stand out player, and often dragged his team through games. He evens says good things about us West Ham fans in a recent article.

I like that he speaks well of us but slags off the chelsea fans.

He was definitely off before the threats - by every account I've heard.
Still a great player who has carried that club for years.
If I block out the cup final, I can admit I like Gerrard. Especially when compared to that tart Beckham.

"He shat it"??? Don't be ridiculous. He chose to stay with the club he loved and who he'd been with since 8 years old.
I hate Liverpool FC but no-one can fault Gerrard's talent and loyalty. Sir Trevor was the last player WHU had like him.

as with all these arguments it just depends how you define world class, how many players can be world class at any one time?
at his best he was one of the best centre midfielders in the world. that for me is world class.

Ignoring all the rumours about threats Gerrard would say his decision was based on thinking that playing for Liverpool meant more to him than playing for Chelsea. A very old fashioned attitude.
I am just happy he is gone as it means we have a better chance of beating them.

Just goes to show he's pretty cowardly to be fair.
Chelsea the time were absolutely flying - far and away the best club in the land.
And he shat it.

He was a great players in his day. But I do think alot of this is to do with the fact that he has been a one club man.

I honestly believe he is not World Class. Great club player definitely, World class? No way, I'm sorry but modern football media induced fans like yourself throw out plaudits like that to people who really do not deserve it. World class should be reserved for the very few and far between, the likes of Ronaldo, Messi etc rather than a player who didn't have the bollocks to go and test himself because he knew, unlike you, that he would have paled into insignificance next to true World Class players.
